TYAN THUNDER K8WE
(sit down before looking at the price tag, OUCH ;p)

ASUS K8N-DL

MSI Master2 FAR

I do not believe the Master2 supports NUMA, I could be wrong however..
The other 2 do, although last I heard the k8n-dl needed a bios update for it to work.

I think more people should go dual opti.. I'm going to try and build a rig to last 5 years.. save me money in the long run I think.
Too bad there arent any crossfire solutions out yet, dual optis with dual x1900xt and NUMA *drool

I did a search on the forums to see if anyone has discussed these motherboards in the past, and didnt find anything.. you know I would have expected more talk about the tyan thunders :p

From its layout, quite obviously the MSI board is not using the RAM controller on the 2nd CPU.

ya thats what I figured, but I hadnt looked at the block diagram and I dont like to sound like I know what I'm talking about just from general observation.

reviews of the master2 are kind of hard to find, and seem to contradict each other but I have read that the bios has good overclocking potential, even pointing out that it comes with a ram cooler.. although they didnt go into detail.

It is an interesting board, not because of what it does right but what it does wrong..like the excessive use of pink :p .. well, the heatsinks but thats too much for my tastes.
And it can only mount a p4 cooler.. voiding the warranty on the cpu's... very odd board. . good job msi, well I'm glad I wasnt really considering it anyways.

the thunder is a beast, and tyan is second to none. . so I will most likely get it. unless a socket 940 angel with crossfire & numa comes along before I can save up my 2500 $

Has anyone tried SLI on a k8we with the new 7900 nvidias? I have been doing some homework and the thunder seems kind of finicky.
