For the server side you don't need AGP video power, so it's basically nonexistant right now. Wait for some more enthuiast boards from makes such as Asus, Abit, MSI, etc. to throw some big players into the field before making a big purchasing decision.

If you absolutely don't need SMP you could also get an Athlon 64 FX board with an AGP 8x slot.

No I really wanted to have the AGP support with SMP.

Am looking to do a job for someone who specifically wanted SMP and the ability to run an AGP card.

Just guess I'll have to tell him to wait or get a Xeon system instead.

Cheers anyway

The Tyan K8W looks like the most desirable dual Opteron workstation board to have at the moment.

I am about to get this board as well. All reviews say it is ROCK SOLID. MSI has made great advances, and this board uses the faster k8t800 chipsets, which allow faster memory access than the nvidia nforce3.

Is it possible to overclock dual Opteron board? Which motherboard would be appropriate?
