Dual NIC help

I have a Win2k Server box with 2 NICS.

the server is a DC that does DNS and DHCP to all of the clients, and the 2nd NIC is setup as the VPN server via RRAS... Sometimes the 2nd NIC takes over, what I mean is, when I launch IE from the server, nothing loads unless I dissable the VPN server... am I doing something wrong? Whats the right way to setup 2 NICs?

what is the point of having the two nics? if you're setting it up as a gateway/router, then you need i nic configured to accept the given IP through DHCP... the other needs to be set to an ip such as 192.168.0.1. all the clients should then have 192.168.0.1 set at thier gateway, or let the win2k box send all that stuff through DHCP (don't forget to configure the extra info to send)... it also helps to name the nics "internal" and "externalk" appropriately. hope this helps

I don't need 2 nics?

Before when I tried to set up the VPN server the wizard said that I need 2 NICs. I don't want to share the networks internet connection, and set it to NOT share the connection... but it still does to the VPN clients..?
