Is it better to have two video cards if you have dual monitors, or one video card for two monitors. My 9700 Pro has two outputs that can run dual screens, but I was just wondering what's best.

Running two monitors on one modern card makes no realistic difference. The 2D stuff on the second display takes essentially zero time for the GPU to do.

With some games, if you have the game open on one monitor and an app on the other monitor, you cannot alt-tab out of the game to the other app. With two vid cards you can. This problem only occurs in certain games (Civ 4 I think) so will most likely not be a problem. I've run two monitors on both one and two vid cards before and that is the only diffeence I've seen.
