dual monitors

i had my AGP video card and a PCI vga card in my computer and was doing dual monitors. then, i needed to take out the PCI VGA card as my sister's comp needed it, and i tried doing the dual monitors with the VGA on the motherboard, but it wont work. i hooked up the intended monitor to the built-in VGA and installed the stuff. then my LCD is hooked up to the v-card slot and drivers are good. when i connect both of them, though, only the LCD turns on. please let me know if this is doable.

im probably going to be using dual monitors quite a bit, even with my new 19" LCD (if i get one) and my 17" CRT
