Dual monitors with SLI/CrossFire

I know that you used to be able to only have one monitor enabled while running SLI. Is this still the case, and is the situation similar with CrossFire?

It doesn't work without disabling the feature. It sucks, I know.
I had an SLI rig and know this to be true. I have Crossfire now and it is also True.

Sadness. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. A dual graphics solution will almost certainly be needed for the second 24" LCD I am/was considering.
