Dual monitors rock!

2 video cards -
geforce 2 mx
matrox millenium

and i *do* own the cd of the mp3s that are playing in winamp there

So which method will give the best results for increasing the size of the desktop?

Upgrade my 17" to a 19", or get another 17" ?

Dual monitor is nice b/c of its wide aspect resolution. But it's not good as far as space is concerned.

depends what your uses are going to be. dual monitors will give you more desktop space, but a larger monitor would be better for games, movies, etc

yep, different sized monitors work fine.

my first attempt was actually using my 17" and a spare 14" i had in the closet 🙂

haha.I have 3 monitors as we speak here....3 19" monitors....I am running G450Max and a PCI....but thinking of getting rid of one monitor cuz it's too addicting...I sit on my ass all day long...

Two monitors are addicting. A couple more monitors, ETLA, and your computer room can look like a NASA computer station. 😉

I'm using a 17" and a 15"
Its a little disorienting because the right half of the screenshot (15&quot😉 is physically to the left of the 17".
I've gotten used to it now.

yea i really didn't like that disorienting feel when i had my 17" and 14". although it was very convient to stick stuff like winamp, icq, email, etc on the 14" while i did my real stuff on my 17"

I got a 17" and a 15" monitor. I always stick IE on my 17" and Outlook Express on my 15". It's cool cause I know when someone responded to one of my messages (plus it makes that sound) on AT. It really sucks when I use my dads computer cause it only has one monitor. I am spoiled now!!

If you are cheap, then you can try those Virtual monitor things. Linux have this feature... and I know some programs do the same thing for windows, but I forgot the name. Hell, I don't even know the name for these things. 😀

I have a G400 single head, dual head was too expencive at the time. 2 bad... 🙂

it's called LiteStep, and is an Enlightment shell for Win32, as opposed to the standard Explorer.exe shell. it's pain to setup and takes a while usually, but once you get the hang of it, it's _much_ better then Explorer IMHO. also it's getting much more support (even winamp has setting specific to) and has 4 Virtual desktops, very cool.

you can find it here at litestep.org
