dual monitors question...

Senior member
to use dual monitors, i need two video cards right? i currently have a geforce 2 ultra AGP video card.. so for my second vid card i'd need to get a pci one right? would i be able to use different resolutions on the different monitors or do they have to be the same?

thanks

No, you can get a dual-output AGP card.

And yes, you can use different resolutions and colour depths - for the most part. There's always exceptions.

You can use multiple cards and or a multi-headed card. An AGP card with multiple heads generally performs/behaves much better than a pair of cards coordinating over PCI.

They don't need to run at the same resolution - but it is a pain if you move a window from larger to smaller screens.
