I haven't been following new developments in multimonitor support.
Is it possible now to game (opengl/d3d) on the primary and browse (+etc.) on the secondary?

Not being able to alt-tab in FFXI is annoying and I'm too impatient to wait for a hack.

You'd have some mad skillz if you could play a 1st person shooter on 1 monitor while you pleasured yourself with some porn on the 2nd monitor. :Q ;)

no because when you are in a game the mouse will only stay in teh game to get it out you have to "alt+tab" or "crtl+esc" to get it out

the second mon stays visiable when you in a game but you cant get to it

so the secondary display doesn't need to be disabled?
does this mean i can have a movie/tv running there? i wouldn't need to access that.

diablo 2 shuts down powerDVD.

i try to game on one screen, play LOTR on the other, but it wont work.

bastards...............

that, and it significantly alters the color of the second screen when it changes it over to 256 colors.

on newer games where you use 32 bit color, that's not a problem, but on old games like diablo 2, it is a problem.

It doesn't usually work because of the controls being locked to the game, I have had IRC channels open on one and game on the other. And when I need to type just alt+tab for a sec type, and alt+tab to return.

I wouldn't mind alt-tab'n but FFXI crashes if you do. Sucks to be me. Oh well...I guess I'll either wait for a hot deal on a second comp--or wait for a hack.

this is the only reason to have a dual display :)

unless you're trying to hack a true 128-bit encryption system using a multi-headed hydra

yeah, i tried to do the whole game & browse thing....the only way it could possibly work (AFAIK) at the moment is if you play the game windowed

i thought there was some awesome utility in which you could assign a key combination to make the mouse cursor swap between monitors?

It works. At work I have two monitors. I use both of them all day with multiple apps. One screen with my internet, and the other with work. Was great during baseball season. Had multiple gamecasts on.
