Dual monitors on a 6600GT

Hello. I have a 6600gt with dvi and vga outputs. My main monitor is connected to the dvi and runs at a 1280x1024 resolution. But I have a smaller monitor with a 1024x768 resolution that I would like to use as a secondary monitor so I can put my media player there and have instant access to it. However, I'm not able to get the two monitors to run at their own resolutions. When I go to the span setting, it makes the resolution 2048x768, which is essentially 2 1024x768 put together. I know this can be done because my laptop, which has an ati integrated video, is able to run itself and an external monitor at different resolutions. How can I get this to work? Thanks

I had that working a few months back, before I gave my 2nd lcd to my wife. Both had seperate resolutions. If I remember right, right click on desktop, go to display properties, advanced, and then try selecting New NVIDIA Control Panel. I believe it was there that the option was to use two seperate monitor resolutions.

"configure each monitor seperately" and set them to Dual View i believe

k...found it. there was an option to configure seperately...guess i missed it. Thanks guys
