I have an AIW 9700 and i have directv plugged into S-Video on the AIW. I have a secondary monitor running on a cheap 16mb PCI card. If i try moving WinDVR into the other monitor the video goes black. Is it because the video card cannot handle the video and do i need to upgrade the card to view it on my secondary monitor? or will it only play on the AIW?

Its because using Overlay to display video only works on Primary surfaces. To play video back on a secondary monitor, you will have to use VMR rendering, which some old 16MB PCI video card will not be supporting. Making the PCI primary won't work for live video either since AIW WDM drivers only work when AIW is primary.

ATI only supports AIW in a single graphic card setup, however I did use an additional PCI 3dfx card for sometime. Come to think of it, you "may" be able to use "Theater Mode" to display on your current card since it maps the overlay to a secondary monitor, and it in fact did work with my V3 2000PCI.

Theater mode is enabled in Catalyst drivers under "video" worth a shot to try it first, and I used my original AIW radeon and it did work. YMMV on any secondary card with AIW however.

Hey, have you tried DScaler? I'm running that and can drag it back and forth. Big difference though, I"m using a single video card to drive both displays and input is via a Hauppage PVR card. Probably no help, but I had to offer it.
