Dual Monitors and KVM, share 1 of the dual monitors?

I'm currently running a monitor through a KVM to my main box and linux box. I'm getting a new monitor and I would like to have dual monitors on my main box and have my old monitor be connected to the KVM. I would hook up my new monitor to my main computer through the DVI port and my old one throught the VGA port on the KVM.

I'm using a IOGear 4-port KVM and a Radeon 9500 Pro on my main pc.

Would that work? Would the Radeon freak out when it loses a monitor when I switch to my linux box?
