Problem:
Essentially, when I open a game fullscreen on my widescreen(WS), my widescreen goes black, then my non-widescreen(NWS) goes black with it, everything kinda freezes for a few seconds, audio comes back, and after about 10 seconds of just audio, my NWS will come back on with my desktop, then my WS will come up with the game in working order. There is also an issue when I minimize games from fullscreen. I get the same thing, where everything freezes up and goes black for 5-10 seconds, then it goes to desktop. Note: No issues when atl-tabbing from a windowed FS game, such as SC2 or Shogun 2.
Now, the only way I know how to fix this is to restart. I tried using MSCONFIG to go in and disable anything not essential in running the computer. This works for awhile, but at some point, and I don't know when, it goes back to its original state, and flickers again. I've looked everywhere, and can't even find anyone else with the same problem, much less a solution. From what I've noticed, one of the big factors I can think of is sleep mode, because I'm usually fine right after I restart, but when I get up and come back, its back to stuttering. Its either that, or at some point, a program I disabled in MSCONFIG comes back on randomly and causes the problem, but I have no idea what to look for and what program would do that. I have all display drivers up-to-date as well as a clean memtest.
