I just got 2 Dell 18" FP monitors. Currently I am running a POS Geforce 4 MX 420 which has only one analog input. I want to know what I have to add in order to get both monitors to run as a "single" monitor. Also I dont mind replacing the card with any ATI card since I have an ATI tv tuner which I want to attach but it turns out that ATI drivers dont really get along with nvidia driver (hehe no suprise there ;)). Please suggest some possible remedies to my problem. Thank you :)

heh sorry about that last post( if it showed up)

what i used to do is i got a PCI vidcard and put it in a PCI slot (duhh) then you set up the drivers and configure the monitor config and it should work. i used some crappy matrox old card with like 4 megs of ram. it worked but one of the main reasons i wanted dual monitors is so i can get my tv card showing on the second monitor, so when im browsing the web the tv window is always showed.

that should work for you

(damm stupid gibbly bah)
(damm its hard to learn this forum i keep clicking enter after i add my pass and it posts it)

Thanks for the reply but I dont want the two monitors to show the same image. I want to combine them in order to produce only one image.

You can install an additional video card into the system. Once the card is installed, you go into your display settings and choose the option that states "Extend my Windows Desktop."

google.com -amazingly enough, doing a search for something on the internet actually works! *gasp*

Ultramon gives you a ton of options for a multiple monitor setup. I mainly use it for the wallpaper options though. I like to have a different image on each monitor. I have yet to really dive right into Ultramon and figure everything out though.

sorry

it also allows "window" setup to cascade etc... i use it for wall paper too and it is very easy to use you can have it in the taskbar to easily switch modes etc...
