Dual Monitor Settings

Hi,
I wish to connect two monitors to my PC. I have a ATI Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition.
One monitor is 19" and I have it set at 1280X1024 the other would be a 12" with max resolution of 640X480. Would be possible to make such a connection and have both the monitors working with the card set at 1280X1024 as the first monitor is?
Many thanks for all answers

Well if the 12? can only do 640x480, that?s the best you are going to be able to get out of it. But you should be able to set it up so your 19? is 1280x1020 and the 12? is 640x480 without any problems (I know I can do that with my nvidia card). I assume that?s what your asking.

12"? Sounds like one of those passively-powered LCDs. Pics? 🙂

And yes, it should be doable - you'll just need to connect them both and enable the extended display in Windows. 🙂

Hi jkoon!
If I understand you mean that I should be able to set the video card with two differents settings one for each monitor. OK i will go looking for that.
You were very helpful, many thanks

No M4H, I'm using the PC mainly for Flight Simulator and I want to put one of the instruments (the FMC) in the second monitor so that i can have it always displayed. And also this monitor should be a touchscreen. Thanks for your help guys...

Yes, it should be no problem at all with either nVidia or ATI. I have ATI set on dual monitor with different resolutions. I recommend using Ultramon if you're using dual displays. Ultramon is by no means a necessity but it does make things a heck of a lot easier. http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/
