Dual Monitor Questions

I've just now setup dual monitor using my all-in-wonder 9600.. now I'm not expecting the greatest of results, and I already know I cant span the TV tuner over both cards, but I am wondering if it's possible to span any game over dual monitors, and if not, if any software is available to force the keyboard mouse across to the second monitor, the reason I ask this is because playing Desert Combat locks the mouse / keyboard with the game on monitor one, and I have GAIM on monitor 2, and alt-tabbing DC practically brings my system to it's knees for a good 20 seconds, but to force the mouse/kb across would be handy.. can anyone point me in the right direction?

I dont know of any games that support dual monitors except a flight sim or two. And all games lock the mouse and kb to the current active game monitor or window. But alt tabbing out should be way faster, only takes a couple seconds here. How much memory do you have (both mainboard and vid)?

I run 2 seperate cards for dual monitors so I know I cant do this but maybe you can select some funky mode like 1600x600? Probably be useless as the center of the screen would be between the monitors, so to speak.

Hopefully games that support duals will be comming soon, Duals rock :)

No. ATI doesn't support true hardware span modes, at least for 3D apps (I think you can run your desktop like this now, but I'm not 100% sure). You can do this with an NVIDIA dual-monitor card, but the gap in between the monitors sort of makes it useless.

You can't "force" it out without minimizing the full-screen app. Fullscreen games will always minimize if you take mouse/keyboard focus away from them (either by alt-tabbing or other means). So there's no way to do what you want, basically.

Playing your game in a window would avoid the problem, but I don't think BF1942 supports that. BF1942 (and especially DC) uses a *lot* of RAM. That's why it takes so long to alt-tab out of it.
