Dual Monitor question (ips/tn)

I just bought a HP ZR24w because one of my monitors died.

It is paired with my LG L227WTG and the color on the LG L227WTG is really pissing me off. I have googled all the available custom .icc and different settings but the display continues to appear bloomed out. For instance if I use the Windows 7 "United States" theme and it shows the wheat field, the wheat on the LG L227WTG is a bit orange and bloomy, the wheat on the HP ZR24w is a very earthy and real color.

Is this just because TN sucks and now my $370 purchase will turn into $740 (because my eyes can't handle this contrast), or do I just have bad settings (current L227WTG setting is from TFT central L227WT)?

All of my TN panels don't have a problem with over-saturation... of course that doesn't mean that yours can't. You should try checking for the monitor being set to an awkward color preset. I'm guessing it's set to something like "Vivid" which will make things look rather funky.
