Dual Monitor - Productivty Increased, Fun Decreased

So I bought a second monitor for a coupla bucks from a friend - It's a Dell 17", and my primary is a Hitatchi 19". Win2kPro running both at the same res, different refresh - tolerable. Aside from a few minor hiccups, the GF3 and Voodoo3 2000 work fine in conjunction. Just a few issues of concern that I think I'm missing - ATI TV Software jes' wont work when that second monitor is enabled. Soon as it's off, we get TV. Same with games. Full screen MPG's/DivX files? No way. They run nice, but as soon as the primary monitor has some action going on, it resizes on the second. I'm pretty sure these are all normal seeing as how the point of a second monitor is generally to increase productivity (which it has), but is there any way (3rd party software, fixes, etc) to make the whole setup a tad more enjoyable?

Thanks guys.

The primary display adapter is a LeadTek Geforce3 (1st Gen) running on the Hitatchi, the Dell monitor has a PCE Voodoo3 2000 linked up to it. The second monitor is an expanded desktop, I never did see a point in cloning the original.

I just keep finding applications that don't work right even winamp plugins on one monitor make the second monitor useless.

I have noticed that twin monitor can cause problems with some apps, I assume it's because they don't know which screen to display as fullscreen (and I would be ammazed if they could support both screens in expand mode).

you should be able to get DVD to work, but you will need to turn off hardware acceleration support.

I've never found a way around problems like that, mainly why I'm now using a Matrox Dual-head card, which has none of those problems.

I'ver heard it helps sometimes to hvae two of the same kind of card... or at least Nvidia and Nvidia not a combo of manufactureers.
