dual monitor problems

hello

essentially, im using a ati x300 pcie card with dual monitor inputs.

1 input is to an lcd monitor, and input 2 is to a projector.

i need the lcd monitor as the working monitor with the start bar etc, and the projector for videos, powerpoint etc.

the problem is that when i run windows media player etc, i cannot maximise the image on the projector screen. as it will just maximise it on the lcd screen only. im having similar troubles with the tv turner program software - avermedia.

i haven't installed hydravision, however will that even fix my problem. or should i have got a different video card or even an nvidia card.

all help is more then appreciated...

well, I've done this with my 9800XT (2001 LCD as primary, projector as 2nd).
it worked fine, but then I installed hydravision first. it becomes a right-click feature (maximize to primary/secondary monitor)
also, I could just click and drag the window onto the monitor I wanted, then clicked on the maximize button and it'd fill the monitor I'd dragged it onto.
Definately try the hydravision. that's what they wrote it for.
I think your card should be fine, so long as you're not heavily gaming.

You cannot clone a media replay window (an "overlay"). ATI drivers offer a "Theater Mode" wherein media playing on screen #1 are duplicated onto #2 fullscreen. Use that.

With recent ATi drivers, you simply move the media window to the other screen first, and maximize it there.

you would think that this would work. however with the avermedia software for the tv, it doesnt have a windows bar at the top meaning, you cant send it to monitor 1/2 etc. and if you drag the window over to the projector and maximise it, it reverts back to the lcd screen..

any ideas...
