I have a 19" 4:3 Samsung LCD. I'm trying to decide if I should pick up another one of these, and use dual monitors, or pick up a 22" Widescreen or something instead, since those are stupid cheap. Any input would be appreciated. I currently use an X1950Pro with dual DVI outs on it. If I hook up 2 monitors with those, would it be "Monitor 1, 1280X1024" extend my desktop to "Monitor 2, 1280x1024", or would it be one 2560X1024 display? Sorry, kind of a noob about doing dual monitors. The one I use at work has 2 X 17's but it uses 2 X video cards so it's kind of a different setup. Anything to consider that I'm not thinking of? Thanks for your input ...

For work, 2 monitors is better, for gaming 1 big one is better. The 2 monitors can be configured seperately, like at work one station I have has a 2560x1600 monitor and a 1920x1200 on it, another has 2 1280x1024. At home I have a 1920x1200 main monitor and an 1280x1024 second monitor.

Your best best is to grab the 1680x1050 widescreen you like, use it as the main monitor and have the 1280x1024 next to it. Best of both worlds. Then you can game on the widescreen anytime you want and if you find a non-ws game switch the 19 incher to the main and play square.

Hmmm thanks for the advice. I guess it kind of makes more sense to get a bigger monitor that's got a nice price tag than to try and match the one I have.
