Dual monitor or large single monitor?

Hi guys,

For the last 4 years or so I have been using two 19" LCDs as a dual monitor set up and just love it. Am now setting up a new desktop and was looking at a 24/26 inch monitor. I then will not have space for a second monitor on the table - which would you think would be a better option? Stick to 2 19s or a large 26?

Any ideas on the Acer 2623? Its the only non TN panel at a budget price.

Do the 26". You won't regret it. Plus you can do full HD. Yeah, dual monitors are the bomb.

Kinda depends on what you're doing with your system.

If mostly gaming/movies then yeah, go for the single big one. Just make sure the rest of your system can handle the higher resolution.

If you're into heavy multitasking or daytrading or something like that, you're actually better off with multiple screens to keep things separate & available.

deepakvrao what panel type is the acer 2623? if it is any version of a VA panel and you intend to game a LOT on it, dont bother getting it. the Samsung SyncMaster 245BW, or any revision that uses the same basic hardware inside, will do for high color quality in a TN panel. i have used this monitor for many an hour of gaming, watching movies, and some photo editing, and i will admit that for a TN panel it has some pretty damn good colors. just turn down the brightness as soon as you get it!
