Dual Monitor Noob

I currently play World of Warcraft and have a ViewSonic VP912b 19" LCD monitor. I love it for playing WoW because the color is amazing and there is little to no ghosting. I am planning on getting back to my old Counter-Strike ways and play competitively again, but CS or any first person shooters are pretty hideous running on this monitor. I was thinking about getting an NEC FE991SB CRT Monitor for CS and then using my LCD for everything else... How exactly does a dual monitor setup work? Can I play CS on that monitor without having to run it in window mode or anything like that? Help me out, I'm a scrub.

Dual monitor could be used in two ways:

You could actually run dual monitors if you have a video card capable of doing so, or 2 video cards. Then, you can have an extended desktop. You can easily switch between monitors and turn either of them off, so that would allow you to easily use both monitors when in your windows environment doing websurfing or whatever, then easily picking one to use for each game.

Alternatively, you could buy a KVM switch and only run one monitor at a time. That would be the "easiest" way to switch between screens, but will not allow you to run both at once.
