dual monitor help

Hello everyone. I just plugged in my LG lcd 1080p tv as a second monitor using an HDMI cable (HDMI to HDMI). When i used it as the main monitor, the picture looked a lot better on it.

As a second monitor it leaves a little to be desiired. text looks bad etc.

My main monitor is also an LG but its not a tv its a monitor.

I run an ATI Radeon HD 5800 series.

Please let me know what information i can give to help you help me 🙂

Have you checked your settings to make sure you're running at the right resolution and such when it's the secondary monitor?

yeah, its the same resolution i had it on when i used it as a primary (with no secondary).

No matter what resolution i choose now, the text looks muddy, like its literally ink bleeding in to the paper.

:colbert: what else can i try?

Can you elaborate what you mean by using it as a main monitor or using it as a second monitor?

This could be a hardware issue, like something wrong with your cable or the port on the video card.

This could be a software issue, like something wrong with your settings in the video control panel etc.

You can isolate the hardware issues from the software issues by approaching this methodically, changing only one variable at a time.
