Dual monitor Help needed!

2nd monitor just wont display anything .. 🙁

here is the setup.

WINXP PRO
Geforce4 TI 4200 (det41.09) ---> VGA port ----> 19" syncmaster sm950p
..............................................---> DVI port ----> VGA adapter ---> 17" EnvisionEN 710E

I know the monitors work and the adaptor works, because when i first boot up, bios info and bootup screen appears on both monitors, but in windows only the main(syncmaster) comes up..

both ARE using latest and correct monitor drivers.. any ideas?

DO i need to plug the main monitor to DVI?

i just tried 800x600 on 17" and it works.. hmmm

i wonder why 1024x768 doesnt work on the 2nd monitor...

did you read my post? did you even read the link you posted? sigh..

hahaha... does the envision monitor boot if you swap the inputs? That would rule out the LCD. =(
