Finally got my new Sony GP400 19inch monitor which is great. And now I am running a dual monitor, using my old Gateway 17inch runningat 1152X864 @ 75hz. And the 19inch is at 1600X1200 @ 75hz ( note in the refresh selection, if I unclick hide what this monitor can't do, it allows me to run 85hz but I don't think that is safe from what I read ).

But anyway, the only problem I have had so far is with games. I load up Quake 3 or Warcraft 3, and than close the game. The second non-primary ( the 17inch ) monitor is black and white or just the colors are messed up, as OpenGL has done something funky to the second monitor. The only way I have fixed it, is by restarting my PC everytime I close Warcraft 3 or Quake 3 but that IS annoying!

Any fix ?

oh btw, my Desktop

If you are using two video cards, before starting the game go to display properties and uncheck the extend desktop to monitor or whatever you call the option. Then when you are done with the game go back and re-check the extend desktop option for the second monitor. That's the way I have to do it.

Check out UltraMon, it allows you to disable secondary monitors when you run specific apps (games etc) :)

I use this on my dual monitor setup :)

I have Ultramon and I disable the second monitor, and it still gives the me weird funky colors.

But I will try GrumpyMan's suggestion soon

Weird, sometimes I had that problem but only if the game was old (playing like 256 colors games or something). Now I have 2 video cards and don't get that problem at all with the second monitor.

Disbaling with Ultramon and clicking " do not extend desktop " is the same thing.

Argh

don't really play Quake 3 but I Do play warcraft 3 every day. I run both games at 1600X1200, 32 bit colors now...
