Dual monitor gaming question

I game on my 1920x1080 main screen and have a 1024x768 second screen upgrading soon hopefully but I have a problem

I can't have games in my main screen maximized and be able to just mouse over to my second screen, I have to play in windowed mode (which I hate). I seem to remember doing this when I had dual monitors before, maybe it was that at that time I had an nvidia card?

Like I will play a game and have its wikia page or a walkthrough or info page or something open that I want to mouse over to but I can't unless I minimize the game first (which is exactly why I run two monitors) or run windowed (which I hate). It's particularly annoying in games like ME2 which sometimes crash when re-maximizing.

Is there some sort or work-around to get this to work or am I just going to have to put up with windowed mode?

A lot of games allow for a borderless windowed mode. Sometimes you have to edit an ini or something, but as long as you're not running dual cards you see very little performance hit.

That's the way most games (sensibly) work. They work in such a way that they catch the mouse (often even in windowed mode).

It's just the nature of the beast. If you want control over a second monitor at the same time as gaming, run it on a different computer.

The annoying thing is when games DON'T catch the mouse and you can go over the edge of the screen/window and screw up your game (mainly RTS type games more than FPS type games).
