Need a card suggestion that will run dual or three monitors @ 1080 for office setting. will most likely use two but would like the option for a third if so needed.

Thanks

even integrated graphics cards these days can run 3 displays at 1080p if they have the necessary outputs (most motherboards only have 1 or 2 ouputs however)

Literally any GTX 900 series or 1000 series GPU, or any AMD 300, or 400 series GPU can handle 3*1080 office setting work.

My suggestion would be something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125918

GTX 1050, 3x HDMI, 1x displayport and 1x DVI ouput.

That allows you 3 HDMI monitors, or a mix of 1 DVI, 1 DP, 1 HDMI. Or 2 HDMI and 1 DVI or DP.

thanks...am now looking at laptop options ....any advice there?

Yeah, dont.

Most laptops simply dont have the proper outputs, not to mention they have garbage cooling and running 3*1080p desktop isn't difficult, a laptops cooling will be less appreciative of the extra load than a desktop.

ok so here is the rub.....company wants to spend as little a possible to get two monitor set up. we have VGA out on current computer....any options ? Adding a graphics card is not an option as they are older model dells. any equipment out there that can do this with current lousy desktop? or do I go in fighting for new systems? if there is something to try before looking at new I am all ears or eyes . Thanks

Something like this would probably work

They need USB 3.0 ports, if there aren't any available you might be able to get an add on USB 3.0 PCI card to throw in there.

Why isn't adding a graphics card an option? As long as it has a PCI Express slot, which Dell's have had for over a decade now, it would be a simple $50 (or less) upgrade per computer.

This is a Dell OptiPlex 790 slim case, not sure if and what card I could install. Suggest away

Any low profile card should suffice. Something as low end as an HD 5450 will run dual 1080p monitors for office use just fine.

I also googled the OptiPlex 790 and it appears you have a VGA and DisplayPort output. You should be able to run dual monitors without the need for a video card. Once you go to three monitors you'll need a video card, but for duals it looks like the machine is capable of that out of the box. All you would need if your other monitor doesn't have a Display Port input is a adapter.
