dual monitor capability

I have a Dell D600 docking station, and it has a vga out, and DVI-D (Dual-link) output. Do you know of anywhere where I can buy a DVI-D (Dual Link) cable that will branch out to support 2 DVI connected monitors, or a VGA cable that will branch out to support 2 VGA connections to monitors? I've been looking for a while without any success. The monitors I want to hook up are Dell 1907 FP which will support either DVI or VGA.

Do you want to just split the connection to mirror it on the two monitors, or are you trying to split a single cable and have it recognized as two separate displays? I don't think you can do the latter.

I'm working on a docked D600 right now, and I haven't even been able to get the DVI and VGA to work simultaneously, but then maybe I'm just dumb.

What I want is a cable that will let me plug into the DVI-D or VGA port on the dock station, and extend my desktop onto 2 monitors, giving me extra workspace.

what is your video card? It doesnt matter if you have a DVI-D output if your card cant support 2 monitors.

Looks like the SVGA Y cable is what I was looking for. Thanks a lot!

I just want to make sure we're on the same page here... you do understand that both monitors will display the same thing, correct? I only mention this because you said you wanted to "extend" your desktop.

You can't just split the cable and get double your workspace. As was said you will get a mirror image on both monitors rendering any added workspace useless.

You will have to hook one to VGA and the other one to DVI, and then enable dual monitors in Windows if your video card supports it.
