Thank you for that informative and knowledgeable post. :p

Yes, you can do it. But movies will have to be run on the primary monitor (the Ti4200 card) and work on the second. Also, does your Ti4200 have dual outputs? DVI output can be converted to VGA with a simple adaptor.

MercenaryForHire has it right.
just hook everything up and then right click on the secondary monitor under your "setting" tab and click "attach".
i agree about trying to use the Ti4200 for this. my 4400 came w/ an adaptor for turning the DVI port into a VGA. check to see if you at least have the DVI port and just plug your secondary monitor into that w/ the adaptor. works great for me, Simpsons on one and stupid programming on the other.

That would be Ultramon. Excellant software for dual monitors. It's about $30.00. but worth it because you can do different screen savers and wallpaper for each monitor with it.

If you used a converter on a GF4/Radeon 9xxx to give 2 monitors, and then got a PCI Matrox G450/400 whatever, could you do four monitors?

Yes, If you have software which supports quad monitors.

When will we see dual DVI cards widely available in the market. Sure, Matrox is there and so are the Quadros. But, how many folks are going to buy those for their home machines. The only Ti4600 card with dual DVI is a Gainward Golden Sample 750 that's quickly disappearing thanks to AGP 8x. Asus has a newer Video Suite model for its GF4MX line with two DVI ports, but alas, it is a GF4MX.

A dual DVI Ti4200 (8x or otherwise) would be a killer product!!!!

You don't need any software just hook up 2 monitors and in the setting tab enable them both. I have a GF4 Ti4600 duel head running 2 very diffrent monitors under windows98, nothig but nvidia drivers and an OS is needed.
