Dual layer DVD burners and the media

So what is the skinny on these dual layer burners???

Cost?? Availability?? Media Cost and availabilty....

I see this as a nice upgrade to my 1x dvd-rw/2x dvd-r pioneer DVR-104.....

There is a few DL media out there... and its not TOO bad in price, but it's not good. Im not willing to pay $2 a disc, when I can get 4X DVD-R Inkjet Printable Media for $.38 a disc.
