Dual lan on mobo only works when the pc is on?

I hooked up my 2nd pc to my 1st pc using the second lan adapter on the mobo(asus p5b dlx) and everything works fine except that the 1st pc has to be on to surf the net. Is there a way to make it work with the 1st pc being off, anything in the bios maybe?

There is No way in the World (or even on another planet) that it can be done.

Lucky for you Cable/DSL Routers are very inexpensive.

Any cheap wireless routers with gigabit lan? Thats the main reason im using the onboard lan rather then going thru my wireless router.

You need Giga?

There Giga switches for $20 to $30. Get one and connect it to the Router, and plug the Giga computers into it.
