I think it's suspicious too.... The ad says X2, the Outpost description does not.

My guess is it is a Typo unless someone can confirm...

Definately a typo!

For that price, you're looking at a 3700+ Venice core. Also, DDR2 isn't possible.

I'd not say blanket statements like that when talking about OEM machines. HP machines have already been known to have socket-939 Sempron processors, which there technically "is no such thing."

That said... I think this is a typo. Can anyone confirm it isn't?

Too bad I missed the X2 3800 HP unit at Outpost this afternoon. 1GB of Ram, 250GB drive, Dual Layer DVD burner, integrated video (did have PCI-e slot), Windows XP Media Edition, etc. for $499 after rebate. (pretty much the same specs as the above except 3800 X2 )

:(

The deal that was almost....*sigh*

I think that you meant to say 3700+ San Diego core, since it lists it as having 1MB L2 cache,
and also because I don't know of any 3700+ Venice core parts.

Venice = 512kb
SD = 1mb

Venice = 3000+, 3200+, 3500+, 3800+
SD = 3500+ (there's a 512kb edition of the SD for this one apparently), 3700+, 4000+, FX-55, 57.. 60?

XP MCE is just a shell on top of XP PRO.
