Dual Head Video Cards

Right now i have a 9600 AIW VC hooked up to dual flat panels. When I watch movies/videos its stationary to the main monitor.

What i want is a video card that will span the video to both monitors. Ive seen older video cards able to do this with the desktop (ie the task bar spans all the way across)

What video card could i get that would span the video onto both screen rather than just one of the two?

TIA

Your present card will span video across both monitors. Your video player must use VMR rendering mode instead of overlay, and then pick horizontal stretch(well, or vertical stretch) in the displays manager of CCC.

I am not seeing any of those options, are they available in windows media player...or is it done from the video card settings

To use VMR mode, you set it in the Video player software:

For WMP10:

Tools>Options>Performance>Advanced

*Video Acceleration: Check "Use video mixing renderer" and "Use high quality mode"
*DVD video: Check "Use video mixing renderer" uncheck "Use overlays"

To set Horizonatal stretch mode, you set it in Catalyst Control Center.

*Basic View: Displays manager>Wizard>Check the displays you want to use>Check "Horizontal Stretch Mode"> Click "Apply"

*Advanced View: Displays Manager> drag your display icons you want to use into the Desktop and Display Setup boxes, pick "stretch horizontally onto CRT" (or whatever type display you are configuring) You're done unless you want to change the resolution. The main display will show spanning resolutions (for instance 2560x1024) pick the one you want and pick apply>Done....and you are set.

It works best with matching displays.

okay i got it to span the video across both screens....is there anyway to keep the functionality of exteneded desktop (when screen is maximized its fit to one screen and not both) while spanning the video?

Okay all was working good except when i tried to play a retail DVD last night.

Is it the screen resolution thats makes it unplayable?? (3200x1600)
