Dual head on XP

I would like to use a dual head configuration on XP, however I've heard various reports that it might have problems with different resolutions on two monitors using a single chip/dual head config like a Matrox G550 or NVidia TwinView. I would like to run a 17" TFT + 15" TFT, 1280x1024 and 1024x768...is this possible using a G550 on XP?
 
With the Detonator XP drivers, I think I can set different resolutions for my TwinView card. Like in Win98/ME, I see two separate displays in the display control panel and I can configure each one independently. With the same drivers in Win2K, I see only one display, which has twice the horizontal resolution (ie. 1600x600 or 2048x768).

I believe Matrox is the only manufacturer that has gotten around the Win2K limitation.
