Do they make video cards with 2 HDMI outputs?

Right now my HD 5770 is feeding my TV with the HDMI port trough my home theater receiver. I use the DVI port to feed my monitor.

My monitor has an HDMI connector and I want to use it so I can listen to the built in speakers.

I could buy a second cheap HDMI video card if I have too, my motherboard has 2 PCIE X 16 connectors.

Would I be able to watch a movie on the TV and listen to music on my monitor simultaneously?

no. the same composite movie+music audio would be put over both HDMI cables to your monitor and receiver regardless of the video config.

Depends on how it could be set up.
It should be possible I would assume to get a DVI +audio -> HDMI adapter, and then use a sound card (i.e. have two in the system) to output one audio stream via the DVI/Audio HDMI to the monitor, and have the other HDMI output video and different audio to the TV.

I don't know how exactly the HDMI setup works on the ATI cards (does it just do audio passthrough or does it have its own soundcard-like-thing?), but certainly if you have multiple soundcards you can output to multiple audio destinations.

It would require some effort and expense though.

two sound cards would do it as long as you have set up one application to explicitly use the "other" output device. but two video cards wouldn't.

of course, you can already do this with your existing DVI setup and an additional stereo cable. buying a second video card specifically so you can do this over HDMI is dumb, though.

HDMI is the only way to access the speakers in the monitor.

I can use a DVI to HDMI converter to feed the TV and a coax audio cable between my sound card and the AV receiver. Then I would use an HDMI cable to hook up my monitor so I would have sound to my monitor speakers.

But, I want HDMI only, especially for the sound to the receiver when I want to listen to True HD and DTS HD.
I believe those formats only work on HDMI links.

I put 2 Power Color 5450 in my system and I have sound via HDMI to my monitor speakers OR my Onkyo receiver now. It's a much better and uncluttered setup for me.

Is there a way to assign specific applications sound output to specific audio output?

I want sound generated by my Firefox browser, ie Liveleak, to output sound via the monitor speakers and Windows media player to output sound to the Onkyo receiver.

I also want to know if there is a way to test my HDMI cable version with a software test? For some reason, I cant get Dolby true HD or DTS HD sound to my receiver. My 25 ft HDMI cable is a few years old and might not be the 1.3 version.

Thanks
