hi,

ive got a problem with my dual monitor system:

i´m running a system with an ATI radeon 9800 PRO plus a geforce 2 MX dual head in windows XP.
the problem is, that the second monitor, connected to the geforce mx, will not start and is not present in the video properties. the cards are working and are both found in the system properties.

drivers are the latest i found...

thx for any help.

greets from germany dirk

Do you have adobe type manager?
If you do multiple monitor support is disabled.

Have you enabled the second monitor.

According to windows help the second adapter must be installed in the first PCI slot to function correctly.

After that there is nothing more that windows xp help can suggest. I assume also that you made sure the second monitor does work ok.

hi,

i dont have adobe type mangager.

i cant enable the sewcond monitor, because, there is no second monitor (second grphic card) shown in the video properties.

i put it into the slot where it was before i replaced mx geforce 3 with the new ati radeon. so i think the slot should work fine.
the monitor ist working ok. 🙂

i tried to set the boot grafic device to pci, and now i have a second monitor, but it ist only working on 640x480 @ 4 bit.

ill try to reinstall the drivers..maybe that will help..

thx for help.

Drop 30$ for a radeon 7000 PCI. I'm just guessing but I doubt nvidia and ati drivers on the same system at the same time don't play nice...

yeah ATI and Nvidia dont mix well togther lol!!! surely u can run 2 monitors off the Radeon? i know atis hydravision isnt as good as Nvidias multi display software but its better than nothing.....surely u got a DVI to VGA adapter in the box weith ur 9800
