Dual DVI and 2d image

It seems that all the 6800gt/ultra cards for PCIe are dual-dvi. I have a Nec 22" CRT, and I have heard that the dvi-vga converters don't work to well, thus fuzzy text and 2d in general. Is this true? I was also considering SLI in the future (one card now, one in 6 months) and heard that SLI can cause the same problem. Any advice?

It may not have the quality of a straight DVI connection but the DVI to VGA converters are not going to be fuzzy as to where you will notice a difference. In all likelihood unless you had two computers setup up next to each other, one running off of a straight DVI connection, and the other to VGA you would have to look closely for the differences. Granted, text will most likely always be crisper on an LCD screen to which DVI usually goes, everything else for normal use will not affect you too much. I happen to have this setup and it doesn't bother me.

I dunno ohnnyj, I noticed fuzziness when I had to use a dvi-vga adaptor. Makes me want to get a new monitor 🙁
