Dual Durons 1.6

I'm thinking about Dual 1.6Ghz Duron setup with MSI Master-L (or GA-7DPXDW-P).
However, I would like to push them a little further (1.8-1.9Ghz).

Someone running similar setup can provide more insight (non-overclockable in dual)?
Maybe dual XPs/Bartons would be well worth extra money?

overclockers had an aritcle about building a dual cpu with that mobo, you can check it out here. Although i want to remind you that you CANT run standard durons, XPs or bartons in a dual configuration. They have to be AMD MPs (multiprocessors). Although if you want to connect the L5 bridges to the XPs to make them MPs is a different story

1. Your memory performance is going to suck.
2. Your upgrade path is pretty much dead.
3. You'll probably need expensive and out of date PC2100-R memory.
4. Some MP boards have USB problems. I don't know about that exact board.

Goatsan, I know, connecting only L5 shouldn't be big problem (I've unlocked my 1500+), playing with Bartons would be harder.
Chaotic42, I have similar feeling "paying bucks for outdated system", but I want to go SMP (I've had pleasure working with dual 1500 MPs, fastest P4/XP's don't bring such feeling).
Waiting for affordable Opterons might be an option :/

I have 2 x 2500xp's at 2.266ghz and they are pretty nippy. Instead of the msi k7d try to find the iwill as that can run 166fsb 😀

i have 1700's at 2.1 - in dual. 1 problem though, what did you guys use to connect your L5's ? I have some "conective grease" that came with an overclocking kit. it does work but it seems that after a month or so i have to remod it after the computer boots and only detects 1 proc. Im on the MSi board. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I have tried to find them and i cant get them anywhere, i went walking around NYC four hours going into hardware shops and radio shacks - "we dont sell that" - i hate ny. I swear in all NY there is like 2 real computer shops. What garbage, i thought it would be different.

what about a windshield heater repair kit, its basically a silver solution. NY might have better automotive repair places
