Dual Display Questions

Ok I made the jump from my AMD 64 to an Intel Core Duo System. I love this new rig, haven't pushed it to the max yet but so far so good. Anyways. I know i could benefit from a dual display system. May help curb my ADHD.

I have a AIW X800 XL. With a 19" Widscreen LCD. I have an extra 17" LCD. For some stupid reason the documentation says you can't run 2 Monitors while doing TV out to an HDTV. But you can do TV out via S-Video.

Has anybody figured out a Way to do All 3 at once? I can't get my TV to detect itself if i plug it into the DVI port (Not sure if this has anything to due with the fact that I am using a VGA=DVI adapter, but i doubt it.

So if I can't figure that out I'm guessing the only option is to add a PCI card and hook the other monitor up to that card. I think i still have a oldschool 4 or 8MB Diamond PCI card laying around to power the 17". Will I suffer any performance blows by doing this? Will this effect my ability to play any computer games?

Thanks for reading this post

Wouldn't adding the new LCD be similiar to trying to get the system to do 3 monitors with two ports? From your description, it appears you have a 19" LCD attached to port1 and a TV to port2. That would be why I would assume they would state you could only do 2 monitors and a TV if the TV is connected to the TV out (I could be confused there).

It shouldn't effect your ability to play computer games on the primary adapter (I haven't done that type of configuration in years though). It is always possible that the driver has some quirk in it that will cause your performance to drop but I can't think of why at this time.

Short version: I don't think so but who knows.

There is a breakout cable with the card. I can't get the 19" to work attatched to the main Port so i have to use the breakout cable. It only works plugged into the VGA out in the breakout cable if i am using TV-Out HDTV. They claim you can have 3 displays if you are using S-Video TV but not HDTV. I don't get why it wouldn't work as you are connecting the dongle to the same TV-Out port.
