using my MSI GF4 Ti4400 VIVO,
I had it working fine, but here's what changed:
video drivers went from Nvidia 28.32's to 29.42 refs
installed RivaTuner and did the 60Hz fix
installed actual monitor drivers vs PnP Monitor XP was using
Which do you think is more likely to be the cause? After seeing it typed out it sounds like the 60Hz thing is more likely (if it's trying to use something beyond the TV) but read on to find out what's weird.
My "Settings" tab under Display properties sees both devices and if I click 'extend my desktop onto this monitor' (weird thing is it sees the TV as default monitor) it starts displaying on the TV (vs no signal) ...but from reading, it sounds like it's res-doubling or something... minimum resolution it lets me use is 1280x960, and I know this NORMAL TV can't/isn't doing that...but it won't let me lower it! nView under advanced does not show up while this is enabled, and when I stop the display (uncheck the extend desktop button) it shows up (provided I select my actual monitor) but doesn't work right. Half the time it sees my Analog/TV under the select box, but whenever I detect displays or attempt to clone, it doesn't start displaying on the TV properly.
I'm going to try rolling back the driver & the 60Hz thing, this just seems weird so I thought I'd get some input.
