I just finished the installation of a 5"display inside my NZXT H7 Flow case and personlized the UI to show the info I wanted. A nice way to switch off after a long week at work!

Now I would like to add a dual display temperature sensor with two probes to measure the air temperature close to the intake fans and close to the exhaust.

I am not sure if and how I can connect the power of the display (red and black cables in the picture) to an internal USB header on the MB.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'd suggest a different power source if you have one free. First, though, you need to know the power required by that unit - especially the VOLTAGE it needs, and polarity (Is red of black the + Voltage connection?) A standard USB2 header can supply 5 VDC up to 0.5 A max current.

From either an older 4-pin Molex female output OR a newer SATA power output connector from the PSU, you can get either 5VDC or 12 VDC at up to 4 Amps - more on Molex. If one of those is free to use and you get a matching connector (with a few wires attached, if possible) to plug into it, you can rig up a reliable power supply for that temp reader. Maybe scavenge a connector and wires from some old dead device. Let us know what you can get and we can advise.

Power: DC 4-28 V, so I guess a USB is more than enough. It will neever draw more than 0.5A.
The Red cable is positive.
Unfortunately I don't have old cables, my "collettibles box"is somewhere among 200+ cartons in my moving :-(

So you can't access any parts from your collection - we all have them, I bet. Try going to a used computer parts shop and buying the cheapest old item that has the correct connector, then just snip that and its wires off and discard the "junk" piece.

Whether you choose to use a mobo USB2 header, a PSU 4-pin female Molex output connector, or a PSU SATA power output, look up its PINOUT diagram. Each has a standard pinout you can rely on. Identfy the two pins for +12 VDC (or +5 VDC) and Ground. To be SURE, check those two with a Voltmeter. Then wire up your scavenged mating connector that way to your Temperature device's leads. Any extra wires should have ends taped up, then coiled up to prevent accicental contact and a short sircuit.
