so I have a prescott at 4.0 and I will like to upgrade it to a dual core, but I dont have the money to buy a new conroe with a new motherboard, its just to much cash, so its buying a pentium D 940 a good upgrade from my prescott? (its a pressler 65nm)
 
Unless you multitask quite a bit, I'd say no. Probably better to wait until more apps/games can make use of the second core.
