Hi all, summer is here and my old system is getting heat up so I would like to upgrade my system in the coming month! Given the potential price drop and the Conroe release in a week or two, I wonder which dual core solution should I go for?
I work mostly with contents, such as playing divx, decrypt and encode DVDs, downloading (mostly with 2 different download apps at the same time), burn DVD and surb web (watch on demand clips). I mostly do all these tasks together so I guess it's time for me to move to dual core!
Moreover, I have a decent AGP card that I wanna save using it and all I have in my rag is just one DVD burner, two IDE HD and some USB devices. If I only have an Antec TruePower 330W, will I be able to run dual core given the components I have in my rag?
I thought about getting X2 3800+ after it drops in half price and with it's lower power I guess my PS should work fine. But I also wonder if you guys think I should get the Conroe... given that it's a 65n CPU and shouldn't consume much power... but for sure it will be a problem to get one within the next month or two and the price maybe a little high!
Thanks guys for your help... if possible can you recommend a motherboard and ram that would work fine for whatever dual core system you suggest... Thanks very much, have fun!
