seeing that they will probably make dual cores running at lower speeds to keep temp down. (ex currently they have AMD64 3800, but they may come out w/ dual core 3000+)
Teh dual core set up would be great for multi tasking, like encoding somethinga while photoshopping, Im sure much better than hyper threading. But wouldnt the single, faster core be better if your just playing a game?

At first yes, HOWEVER once dual cores become the standard games will make use of the dual cores and will run faster on a dual core than a fast single.

hehehe lots of people here like making small fires out of their money!!! i expect dual cores to cost alot at first like most new stuff, but this means most game devs will coninue making games around single cpu set ups

personally I think I'll switch to nForce4 s939 early '05 and dual core probably around '07, at that time some dualcore optimized software should start emerging.

actually game developers will likely adopt them pretty quick cause intel roadmaps show they expect dual cores to be most of the proceesors sold after a few years

games won't run faster on say 2x 2ghz than 1x4ghz, and there is a definate limit to the amount of multithreading you can do in games and such, but dual cores should approach a processor as fast as their combined speeds with perfectly coded multithread applications.

wiht well coded games and dual cores i've heard that the performance increase will be 50% at best over a single core
