Just curious if anyone has heard of what the price points will be for dual core... both from AMD and Intel.

Also... is it true that Intel will need to support a new socket due to dual core while AMD will stick with 939 for dual core? And if AMD is staying with 939... can we keep our current motherboards?

Intel has released their pricing for their dual core chips. I can't seem to find a link right now, but the slowest model was around 270 USD.

Yes, its true that Intel dual cores will require a new mobo.

AMD has said that current s939 mobo's will support dual core, with a bios update. But, with all the rumors of a new A64 dual core socket, I'm not sure how much stock to put in that. s939 may just be for the first gen of A64 dual cores.
