Dual core with HT. 4 CPU graphs in WinXP task manager for a home system is amusing if nothing else:

Looks promising, but I honestly expected more performance. I know HT can sometimes hurt performance, but I've never heard of having 'two physical CPUs' hurting any single application, just that the app won't benefit if it's not SMP aware.

All in all, seems decent and looks like we're headed for a new faster way to compute! Sure beats the GHz bandwagon that's lead us this far. I wonder when we'll see quad-cores in a CPU package.

I was pretty impressed by the Pentium D 320. It almost matched the Pentium D EE and I'm sure it will be significantly cheaper than it, too. I can't wait to see what AMD's dual core chip does now. :heart:
