dual core drivers and optimization files

i have an opty 175 and i downloaded the drivers for it from AMD. I noticed the X2s have a newer driver. can I use that one or is it for x2 only?

Also, the AMD website didn't show and optimization file for the Opty so i used the X2 dual core optimization file. is that ok?

my system seems to hang every now and then on certain things. like this morning it kept hanging on video files. it would just lock up for a few seconds.

sometimes it hangs when trying to close IE7 also.

any idea whats wrong or what I can do to help fix this?
 
AFAIK, the X2 and Opteron patches are the same.

Some people swear by the X2 patches, while others say they aren't needed. I have never really noticed any major slowdowns with my X2 with the updates installed, but I don't game much either.
