RMT = Ream Money Trade. Selling virtual money from an online game through a service like www.ige.com

exactly if you purchase or have purchased 2 accounts......but you previously stated --
Can someone define RMT? The reason I'm not happy about your posts is that you can't just jump in on a conversation using speculation without facts and examples to back up what you are talking about. I realize writing skills are not required to post on a forum but it sure would be nice to have a useful post once in awhile. If you didn't want to help me then say that and tell me that you feel that it is not a good idea to do that or that it has been proven to be wrong. You guys jumped all over me without knowing much. I haven't posted much in awhile on these forums but I think as a courtesy to people you don't know you don't just attack them out right. You get to know them a bit and then decide if you want to bash their fricken skull in with a baseball bat.

So obviously we knew that whet you were trying to do was not ethical and would be considered cheating.........I think you assumed that people would agree that you were not cheating...so maybe you should say...you were wrong about us...

Jedi I think you missed the point. All you had to say was, "hey man, that sounds like a bad idea so dont do it". So now that that's over lets have lunch.

Judging the op isn't part of the deal.

Oh please. You want us to follow rules in your thread but you don't want to follow the rules of the video game?

Moron.

more like ud like a bot to take control of your uber character while ur noobie character follows around and leeches EXP. :p

Done it on RO, Done it on Diablo2, retired from ORPG because they took too much time and money.

And to defend the op somewhat, People will always cheat, because of that, in order to stay in with the people around you, you need to find either entirely new people or a new relm without cheating, or impliment some sort of cheat for yourself. As long as he grew his single uber character, i dont see any problem with having a newbie character follow around your uber character. It would almost be like if one of your friends came online and helped boosted you.

If you have the money and resources to cheat, why not? Cheating itself opens new doors of fun for the game. Of course its not fun for the others ur cheating, but its fun for the person who cheats hence since games are suposed to be fun, why not exploit it.

And b4 i get flamed on its because of people like me that cheat that mess up games, well as i have said, ive given up on orpgs. They take too much time, and if any of u guys play WC3, everyone map hacks like no tommarrow. If companies dont want us to cheat then strict anticheating programs should be implimented like WC3 battle.net and Steam's VAC.

But even these are still not cheat proof.

All in all, the kids are getting smarter, and us adults who need to find anticheats for these kids cant keep up. What else can we do?

Well, your post speaks for itself. I wish there were less people like you.

But falsely inflated stats are no substitute for real skill and experience.

Well the games i play now have uber anti cheat protection on them. So you cant cheat. But how many people out there ran into someone with a aim bot.. or a map hack... cheating is part of gaming. its life, so hell with it...

And if you think that is bad? how about the people that know to manipulate scripts so they can buy a PS3 at a online store when its sold out! I think this is far worse then using a map hack or aim bot.

Back to my original statement, the kids are getting smarter and smarter at bending the system. If you cant keep up with them, then its best to stay out entirely.

If only I can find that VGA, video games anonymous, I might give up orpgs too. They do consume too much of my time. Besides that, my wife hates my pc all together because I play too much of games.

Good comments. Maybe I should move this discussion to a new area to carry on the debate over cheating :D

That's why over 4,000 accounts were banned in the last month on the game I play, Final Fantasy XI Online. They monitor every aspect of the game and all of the popular camp spots to watch for hackers and cheaters. They also don't tolerate RMT behavior and are taking steps to remove items from the monsters they camp and place that item in a spot they cannot use their cheating tactics and monopolize that NM.

Yes, those people are theives and scum, but that doesn't mean that the people who hack and cheat in games are fine, they're still cheaters. Just because you can cheat doesn't mean you should. It makes it less fun for others. You say it enables you to do other things you couldn't normally do and thus is fun; how fun is it for some kid who just started playing a game when someone shoots him every time he spawns, in the head, through a wall? Is that fun? This is why there are game rules. If you can't appreciate the rules of the game then go play something else.

My guess is that when they do get something in, he will be #1 to receive it since he already has an order in.

i see...well, it's a $600 paper weight. I have one and if I had the choice now, I would never buy a Ps3...biggest junk console I ever owned :frown:
