I just built a customer/friend a Athlon dual core system. It uses an MSI NVidia NForce 4 chipset motherboard. I then installed XP Home and had some quirks before finally getting a good install and a stable machine. I still don't fully understand the install funnies. However, somtimes when looking at task manager I see the 2 cores appearing as 2 seperate processors and at other times only 1 shows up. Shouldn't I see both cores identified all the time? Is it dependent on what software is running at the time? I find this odd and wonder what is causing it. Is it XP home that is the culprit? Anyone who knows about this I would greatly appreciate a good explanation.
