I've only heard its a problem if you want to go fast. It is supposed to be good for the price. The cheapest way to get benefit of dual core.

The CPU has some headroom for OCing, but does this MB have good OC options?
People really aren't buying this combo to run "stock" are they?

I dunno... I think you'd have a real hard time pawning off that motherboard. I guess it's a good way to save about $5-$10 on the CPU if you wanna go through that effort.

The 533mhz bus on the CPU shouldn't be a problem at all, but I've seen a review that was able to lower the multi on the 805 and raise the fsb to 200mhz, I'm not sure if that's actually possible on retail hardware, but I guess it's worth looking into.

i dunno it woudn't be that bad stock. a lot of people are getting 3.3ghz with no voltage tweaking and ati radeon xpress tends to o/c well on bus. its got onboard video and such anyway. you could pair it up with a celeron for a relative and buy a real board for the 805.

This not a bad deal, you can wait and see if on the weekend the in store price might be cheaper i picked 1 up about 3 weeks ago instore $129.
I love the cpu i have 2 to mess with. on the ecs mobo could not go faster the 3.4ghz (stock hsf)with pqi 667. Temp was not a problem. the only adjustments are fsb and ram voltage +50/100/150mv. It will be on ebay soon tho.
On my p5wd2-e I am at 3.9ghz with a big typhoon.
On a side note to compare my socket 478 3.0g at 3.3 ran the same super pi times as the d805 at 3.3.
On the cpu side of 3dmark06 i am getting some wierd #s my 478 scored 740 and the d805 scored somewhere around 1200. this was the same basic(free) 3dmark06. I think it has to do with the video card.

3dmark06 favors dual gpu - that is the software is able to make use of two core is your cpu has that. Thats why the score on 805 is higher than your single core P4.

I have had 2 of these 805s. The highest overclock I have had was 3.6ghz without vcore increase(dual sp2004 stable) and with 1.55v vcore I got it upto 4.0ghz. Temps can be an issue when 1.55v is pushed into it.

I have seen one person running his 805 at 3400 mhz with the said ECS mobo but not more. So you can probably expect something around that type of OC when the ECS mobo is used. Makes an awesome folding rig if you ask me. :)

Well first i think my cpu died (d805) it was working but after trying to upgrade the motherboard to asus p5wd2-e i got no display out not beeps, went back to the orignal (working) ecs 410l and same problem no dispaly out no beeps.

Second thing so cal fry's (la,oc,sd) counties have this deal for $139 I may have been mistaken earlier and paid 139 not 129
